The social enterprise Dobroty s příběhem (Delicacies with a Story) was established more than twenty years ago as an extension of a therapeutic workshop run by Portus Praha, a non-profit organisation. Thanks to the support of the public, donors and the charitable initiative Akce Cihla (Brick by Brick), the organisation was able to build new facilities in Davle near Prague, where fifteen employees with special needs now work. Each product therefore represents not only a high-quality Czech delicacy but also tangible support for people who may find it difficult to secure employment in the mainstream labour market. Their commitment to honest production, quality and a personal approach has paid off. Dobroty s příběhem received the Central Bohemian Region’s Regional Food Award for its renowned marinated Hermelín cheese, demonstrating that social entrepreneurship can be both successful and sustainable in the long term.
The product range includes popular marinated cheeses, pickled sausages and other specialities, which are available in numerous shops, cafés and restaurants, as well as through the company’s online store. In Davle, the organisation also runs Příběh, a small bistro and shop offering its own products alongside goods from local farmers, organic food and gluten-free products. Dobroty s příběhem proves that good food can have a meaningful impact beyond the plate. Every purchase helps create employment opportunities and contributes to enabling people with intellectual disabilities to live fulfilling and dignified lives.
