Report from our first organized youth exchange called Youth vs. Disinfo, which took place between 13th and 21st April in Lhotka near Mělník with a preparatory meeting a month earlier from 21st to 24th March.
After the successful small-scale partnership Be informed not disinformed, we decided to use our experience and extend it to young people from Bulgaria, Northern Macedonia, Romania, Slovakia, Turkey and the Czech Republic.
In eight days we delved into the issues of disinformation in each country, the possibilities to fight against it at local, national and international level. In addition to disinformation, we highlighted the importance of media literacy, not only among the young generation, and went through the history of the media.
The programme also included a visit to Prague, where we facilitated a visit to the Eurocentre, where we learned more about the upcoming European Parliament elections.
The intercultural evenings were definitely one of the favourite non-programme activities. Each country had the opportunity to present its culture through food, drink, customs, traditions, music or dance.
This project was sponsored by the European Union under the Erasmus+ programme.
