In July of this year we held a competition called Pitch Your Sustainable Idea which is an international project developed together with our partners from Romania and North Macedonia, focusing on supporting young people in developing and presenting sustainable ideas in the field of social entrepreneurship. Through an engaging format and practical workshops, the project created space for creativity, new ideas and the development of skills needed to turn sustainable ideas into convincing pitches and concrete initiatives.
This competition took place from July 3rd to July 8th in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia. Participants arrived on the first day and settled into their accommodation in the Old Bazaar. The programme began with a traditional North Macedonian dinner, offering an opportunity to experience the local culture and connect with the Macedonian team. Later that evening, the Romanian participants joined the group, officially marking the beginning of the Erasmus+ project.
Alongside the competition activities, participants had the opportunity to explore Skopje and its surroundings. They hiked Mount Vodno and visited the famous Millennium Cross, enjoying panoramic views of the city. They also took part in a guided tour of Skopje, discovering its history, landmarks and cultural heritage. The programme continued with a presentation by the local legal-tech startup Factum AI, followed by a Q&A session during which participants received valuable feedback on their project ideas.
The competition concluded with the announcement of the results, with the Czech delegation achieving 1st and 3rd place, while a Macedonian team took 2nd place. The experience was rounded off with a group dinner, where participants and organisers celebrated the results together while enjoying traditional Macedonian cuisine and spending time together.
