Last autumn, we headed to the Romanian town of Vatra Dornei to participate in the project “LevelUP: Ready4Work!”. The project focused on one of today’s greatest challenges – youth unemployment in Europe and the employability of young people in the labor market.
Through creative workshops and group discussions, we joined participants from over seven countries to explore what the journey to a successful career entails. During practical simulations, we tackled real-world problems that young people encounter when job hunting. Activities that might have initially seemed like mere theory turned into a valuable lesson on the vital role soft skills play in an ever-changing environment.
Some of the most beneficial parts of the program included training in key elements such as effective communication, teamwork, and creative problem-solving – skills that are absolutely essential for today’s job market.
Overall, it was an incredibly inspiring ten days that were both eye-opening and allowed us to make lifelong friends. The experience and international contacts we gained will help us, as well as others, to stay motivated and better prepare for our future professional lives.
