The DigitalYOU Youth Exchange took place from January 9th to January 18th. However, my journey began already on January 8th. It was a long 14 hours trip to get to the north of Poland. I was actually the first one to arrive at our venue, hotel Manor in Olsztyn. Gradually, the rest of the Czech team and also the other Teams started arriving. The hotel was beautiful, and a huge advantage was that we had the entire place practically to ourselves, which created a unique, private atmosphere.
The project program was packed with interesting activities, for example AI or Real. In this session, we had to distinguish whether photos, videos, or audio clips were real or generated by Artificial Intelligence. It was fascinating and sometimes scary to see how advanced technology has become. One of the highlights was our visit to a local high school in Olsztyn, where we had the chance to present about AI and Erasmus+ opportunities to local students. It was a great experience to share our knowledge and inspire others.
And of course, Erasmus isn’t just about work. The intercultural nights were amazing. We learned so much about other cultures, tasted traditional foods, tried to pronounce impossible tongue twisters, and learned national dances. We also explored the city through a City Game, which guided us through the historic center of Olsztyn. Back at the hotel, we enjoyed sauna, pool bowling and billiard. Right at the start of the Exchange, the sauna door broke, and there was glass everywhere, so the wellness was closed for the first few days. But once it was fixed, it became the perfect place to relax after a long day.
As I look back, I realize I’m taking home much more than just souvenirs. I gained a lot of new knowledge about the world of AI and technological world, realizing both the potential and the dangers of these technologies. I also learned a lot about myself and defined some areas I want to work on in the future. DigitalYOU was an unforgettable week full of new friendships and eye-opening moments.
