Project report:

Small scale partnership programs provide young individuals with unique opportunities to broaden their horizons, foster intercultural understanding, and develop important life skills. One critical aspect of such programs is addressing contemporary challenges faced by society. One prominent issue in today’s digital age is the proliferation of fake news, which can have far-reaching consequences on individuals and communities. As part of a small scale partnership program, we explored this topic through various workshops and activities to raise awareness and equip ourselves with the tools to combat misinformation effectively.

One of the workshops focused on creating informative and engaging posters related to fake news. Through creative designs and thought-provoking slogans, we aimed to capture the attention of our peers and inspire critical thinking. By placing these posters in prominent areas, we sought to spark conversations and encourage people to question the information they encounter.

Another workshop involved researching and presenting on fake news within a specific country. Each group of people from a specific country got together and investigated instances where misinformation had been widely circulated. We analyzed the impact of these fake news stories on society, highlighting the importance of media literacy and responsible information consumption.

To deepen our understanding, we attended a presentation on the phenomenon of fake news and learned how to recognize its signs. The speaker emphasized the importance of verifying sources, fact-checking information, and being cautious of misleading headlines and biased reporting. We were encouraged to critically evaluate the content we encounter online, ensuring we share accurate information and contribute to a more informed society.

In addition to the focus on fake news, we also created a poster showcasing Erasmus programs and their benefits. We aimed to promote the value of international exchange programs and the opportunities they provide for personal growth, intercultural understanding, and academic development. By sharing our experiences and highlighting the positive impact of such programs, we hoped to inspire others to participate and embrace the transformative power of international education.

Overall, our participation in the youth exchange program provided us with a comprehensive understanding of the challenges posed by fake news in today’s interconnected world. We learned that combating misinformation requires active engagement, critical thinking, and responsible sharing of information. Armed with these skills and insights, we returned to our communities with a renewed commitment to promoting media literacy and fostering a culture of truth and integrity. The youth exchange program served as a catalyst for change, empowering us to combat fake news and contribute to a more informed and connected society.
