Project report

Our first project, a Small-scale Partnership (KA210) under Erasmus+, titled “Be Informed Not Disinformed”.

As the name suggests, this four-phase project focused on combating disinformation and promoting media literacy among youth. This topic became important to us during the COVID-19 pandemic when we saw how dangerous misinformation can be, and it became even more relevant with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

We collaborated with partners from Croatia, Poland, and Slovakia to raise awareness about fighting disinformation in each country, with help from local experts.

The project launched near Bratislava from 1st until 5th July 2023, offering young people a chance to broaden their horizons, foster intercultural understanding, and develop crucial skills. We addressed the spread of fake news, a significant issue in the digital age, through various workshops and activities.

The first day focused on team-building, culminating in an exciting white-water rafting experience.

On day two, we dove into the topic of disinformation. We created informative posters about fake news and researched its impact in our respective countries.

We deepened our knowledge with a presentation on fake news in Slovakia by Vladimír Šnídl from Denník N, who emphasized the importance of fact-checking and recognizing misleading headlines.

We also introduced various Erasmus+ opportunities, promoting the value of international exchange programs for personal growth and intercultural understanding.

The final day was dedicated to dissemination activities and project evaluation. We created videos about disinformation, fake news, and hoaxes, which were shared on the social media platforms of Mladoevropani and our partners.

We’re grateful to Future Generation Europe for their cooperation and to Viktória Šaškovičová for her invaluable assistance throughout the project!
